Austin's first trip to the ER...

Austin woke up at 12:45 AM Monday morning with a croupy cough that turned bad fast...I've never been so terrified in his 14 months. His breathing was quite scary. We called the pediatrician who told us to do the steam shower and then cold which we did. She called back and could heat his breathing and told us we needed to take Austin to the ER. He was such a little trooper!! He endured chest x-rays, an epinephrine breathing treatment and an oral steroid (which he had to do twice since the first time it came right back up). He finally fell back asleep in my arms 3 hours after he first woke up and then was up again about 5:45 AM right before we got to leave.

I know croup is a common thing and Austin's had it before but it hadn't gotten so bad, so fast!

Asleep again at 3:45 AM....what a sweetie!
